Project Grupo Mulheres do Brasil
Project: Women’s Support Group – Empowering Brazilian Women Abroad
Concept: Collaborating with this remarkable group of women was an incredibly fulfilling experience. Their dedication to supporting Brazilian women living abroad with crucial information and fostering a sense of community is both inspiring and impactful. ♡
Why: Founded in 2013 by 40 women passionate about driving societal change, the group has grown to thousands of members worldwide. Their mission is to amplify female participation in shaping a better Brazil, eliminating gender, racial, and social inequalities, and providing guidance to Brazilian women globally.
The Goal: To create visually engaging materials that raise awareness about critical issues, such as domestic violence in Canada, and provide resources and support for women in need. The aim was to ensure that every design not only conveyed vital information but also fostered a sense of unity and empowerment.
Process: I designed a series of impactful social media posts and an e-book focused on domestic violence, tailored specifically for the Canadian context. Each piece was crafted to inform, support, and inspire action, reflecting the group’s values and commitment to positive change.
Pieces: Social Media Posts, E-Book on Domestic Violence in Canada.

E-Book: A Guide to Domestic Violence Support for Brazilian Women in Canada
Concept: This e-book was designed as a vital resource to empower Brazilian women in Canada, offering guidance, safety planning, and essential information to address domestic violence. It serves as both an informative and supportive tool, aiming to connect women with resources and foster a sense of security and community.
Why: Domestic violence remains a critical issue that requires accessible and culturally tailored solutions. This guide is specifically crafted to address the challenges Brazilian women face when navigating the Canadian legal and social systems, offering clarity and actionable steps to seek safety and justice.
The Goal: To provide a comprehensive, easy-to-follow resource that informs women about their rights, outlines safety measures, and connects them with legal and social services. The goal was to create a visually clear and empathetic design that underscores the importance of empowerment and practical support.
Process: I meticulously organized the content into distinct sections for clarity and flow, covering topics like types of violence, safety planning, and how to seek help in emergencies. Visual aids, such as emergency kits and action plans, were included to make the information more accessible. Special attention was given to creating a design that is both engaging and culturally sensitive, ensuring the audience feels seen and supported.
Highlights of the Content:
- Definitions of Violence: Clear explanations of different forms of domestic violence.
- Safety Planning: Step-by-step guidance for creating a personal and family safety plan.
- Support Network: Tips for building a network of allies and accessing resources.
- Legal and Immigration Advice: Information on Temporary Residence Permits (TRP) and navigating custody disputes.
- Emergency Preparedness: Checklists for emergency kits and actions to take during a crisis.
- Practical Tools: Phrases in English for seeking help and a Q&A section addressing common concerns.
Pieces: E-Book Design, Visual Elements (Emergency Kit Checklist, Safety Plan), and Resource Compilation.
Software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva.
This e-book is more than a guide; it’s a lifeline for women navigating the complexities of domestic violence in a foreign country, empowering them to take control of their safety and their future. ♡
